Wired Magazine demo @ SXSW* & the design of eTextbooks?

http://vimeo.com/10181344 - watch this video on an iPad dummy demo of a evocative eText layout

-I noticed that visual design's relationship to text content is still crucial to telling the story, i.e. typography and photos.

-Love the idea of "leveraging the poster" as a way to rid ourselves of the 2-sheets-of-paper-pdf artifact.

-Interesting metaphor for text, "we are creating storyart, like a movie or music."

so the question here is relevance, do you think that Wired Magazine's iPad version is a relevant model for the future of eTextbooks?

* The South by Southwest® (SXSW®) is being held in Austin even as I text (3/12 - 21). http://sxsw.com/ The SXSW® Conferences & Festivals offer the unique convergence of original music, independent films, and emerging technologies. Fostering creative and professional growth alike, SXSW® is the premier destination for discovery.
